Our goal is to design an integrated workplace collaboration system that facilitates a strong sense of efficient workflow and collaboration when working on creative projects both in virtual and physical space.
For teams in the footwear & apparel industry working in hybrid & remote work environments, we imagine a shared reality system that leads to real-time 3D visualization at scale, and facilitates a natural, collaborative work flow.
The Connect.pro system is comprised of 3 main products: a 3D interactive display that allows user to view and interact with three-dimensional images instantly without requiring a headset or eyewear; A Scanner that quickly and easily translates physical prototypes and materials into digital models; and a collaborative platform that connects teams and technologies together allowing them to share and experience digital work as if they were in the room together.
Display.pro creates an immersive and believable interactive ‘Reality’, without the need for peripherals such as headsets and controllers. It utilizes transparent screen technology, which can bring users a more realistic feeling of 3 dimensions, and offer a magnetic pen that allows for convenient annotation. Object can be viewed at actual scale and moved around using natural gesture based interactions, simulating the experience of holding and viewing a physical object.
Scan pro is a 3D scanner that liberates people's hands while having 360 full 3D scans. First, it utilizes magnet levitation technology to keep scanned footwear stable while scanning. Second, it offers 12 wide-angled lens cameras surrounding the 4 sides of the surfaces for full view scan. Also, it has even lighting coverage throughout all surfaces and details.
Connect.pro software works alongside the software tools used by creative teams today and enables members of the team to collaborate easily and naturally as they would together in the studio, even when they are apart.
What if our customers become a larger part of our design process? What if their input can drive the solutions to better fit? The Connect.pro platform makes it easy to incorporate and visualize performance data and information about product fit and wear and tear into the design process. For example, by using sensors that monitor fit, performance and wear of existing products, the system makes it possible for designers to continually improve the performance of each generation of products by virtually “seeing” how the previous generation of product performed in real world conditions. Over time, this more efficient design process can lead to increased performance and durability of product lines as well as help reduce material waste and improve sustainability.
We want to demonstrate the functionality of each technology and highlight the core visuals of how the Display.pro and Scan.pro works. We designed these technologies to fit any workspace environment, whether remote or in-person.
We believe that research is our main foundation for good design. Based on our interviews with some footwear designers, we have learned that it is frustrating to virtually communicate the accurate scale of prototypes, and shipping iterations of these prototypes can be time-consuming and a waste of materials. Thus, the need to connect the digital and physical workspace is essential more than ever.
The Connect.pro is a powerful collaborative workspace containing a variety of features for the design team. The stakeholders are able to view and track their working process just in one platform; Creating new prototype models with professionals and embedding our real-live customer data. Additionally, the platform provides a library of real swatches to improve your 3D experience on the Display.pro.
The Scan.pro provides an interface that displays when the object is detected and ready for the scan. Once the user verifies the detected object, the screen indicates the scan process of the object. After the process is complete, the screen will let the user know that the digital version is ready to be sent to the platform. All the process notifications and interfaces will also be available on the Connect.pro platform.
Display. pro is easier to let the team discuss and mark the areas that need improvement with different kinds of annotation. For example, teams start playing around with the model and click the draw function to draw above it. They also use voice input to record certain feedback through the meeting, which is so convenient. At last, the team can always view the customer data to discuss how they can optimize for the next step. The system can generate feedback to visualize data. The team can directly view which part has the most problem and needs to improve
